Amsterdam Public Transport System
https://en.gvb.nl/
Although the city centre’s compact size means that most areas and sights are within walking distance of each other, Amsterdam’s public transport network (called 'GVB') is efficient, reliable, inexpensive and widely used. One million passengers travel the city by tram, bus, underground metro line and ferry every day.
The GVB day or multi-day ticket provides you with unlimited travel throughout Amsterdam, both day and night, on the bus, tram, and metro, for the number of days that best fits your plans.
Train tickets
Train tickets can be purchased from the NS train tickets machines at train station (main hall airport) (with coins or ATM/Credit cards) or online.
Note that the difference between first and second class travel in trains is negligible, although first class could be more comfortable during rush hour, when trains tend to be overcrowded.
There is a high penalty for travelling on the train without a valid ticket. Travelling by train within the Netherlands: www.ns.nl. Or buy your train ticket here.
By taxi
Taxis are waiting outside the arrival hall and will bring you to Amsterdam in less than 25 minutes for about € 50,- one way.
